Wild Waves, Western Days & Everyday Hair Essentials
I've always liked hairstyles that don't need to look perfect. A little volume, some loose waves, or just straight hair with a nice shine. Something that works with your favorite jeans and boots, whether you're heading to a country concert or just running errands.
Over time, I've realized that you don't need a dozen styling tools to get a good result. A few basics can do most of the work.
Loose Waves
For relaxed waves, I like using a hair waver. It's an easy way to add some texture, especially if your hair tends to fall flat.
I usually start with completely dry hair and a heat protectant. Then I work in sections, leaving the ends a little straighter for a more natural finish.
Once everything has cooled, I gently separate the waves with my fingers instead of brushing them out right away.
It's a great everyday hairstyle, especially with a graphic tee, denim jacket, and cowboy boots.
An Easy Blowout
I love the look of a good blowout, but I'm not particularly interested in spending an hour styling my hair.
For a bouncy finish, a heated thermal brush can help shape dry hair and add movement. An all-in-one air styler offers more options, including drying and styling with different attachments.
I find it easiest to work in smaller sections and focus on the roots. A heated thermal brush is generally used on dry hair, while an air styler may be suitable for damp hair, depending on the attachment. Always follow the instructions for your tool.
Straight & Simple
Some days, I just want my hair straight and out of the way.
A flat iron is useful for smoothing out frizz or fixing sections that didn't dry quite right. I always make sure my hair is completely dry before using one.
I also try not to go over the same section too many times. Using the lowest effective temperature is usually a better idea than turning the heat all the way up.
The Hair Care Basics
Styling is easier when your hair is in good condition.
A heat protectant is a must whenever I'm using hot tools. I also like keeping a leave-in conditioner around for dry ends.
A hair mask once in a while is nice too, especially when my hair feels dry from regular styling.
The important thing is finding products that suit your hair type. Fine hair might need lighter formulas, while thicker or drier hair can often handle something richer.

Whether I'm going for loose waves, a soft blowout, or straight hair, I usually stick to the same idea: a hairstyle that looks good but doesn't take over my morning.
There's something very classic Americana about that kind of easygoing style. Good denim, a favorite pair of boots, and hair you don't have to think about all day.
Nothing complicated. Just a few good products and a routine that works.
See you down the road. ♡
